Danny Teo
I graduated with an LL.B (Hons) degree from the University of London in 1992. I was called to the English Bar by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in February 1993.
I worked with several law firms from 1993 to 2006, before being a consultant with Senoko Power in their joint venture with a Thai company to produce biofuels in Thailand. I returned to practice in 2008 and am now the Managing Director of Advance Law LLC.
I have been involved in many civil and criminal matters. I have advised retainer clients on company matters and contracts including franchise and trust agreements.
I was among a pioneer group of lawyers selected by District Judge, Mr Liew Thiam Leng, to mediate claims in the Subordinate Courts. I was a mediator with the Small Claims Tribunal from 1996 to 2007. I was a volunteer at the Ang Mo Kio branch in mediating civil and neighbourhood disputes. I was also a volunteer with the Criminal Legal Aid of Singapore (CLAS). I was a Commissioner for Oaths from 2004 to 2007.
I have negotiated various agreements for the acquisition and/or joint venture investment in Power Plant projects in the Asia Pacific region.
I have also acted as a consultant for various companies and advised them on legal issues, negotiating contracts terms, structuring and restructuring businesses and facilitating and arranging financial loans and investments.
I assist locals and foreigners in registering and incorporating companies and businesses in Singapore.
Since 2017, I have been involved in cryptocurrencies and exchange platforms. I have advised and assisted in setting up platforms in Singapore and Thailand. I was also on the panel of Principality 2018 held at MBS Convention Hall. I have also written legal opinions for several companies involved in cryptocurrency and assisted a Japanese company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange with their business expansion into Vietnam and Thailand. I am also involved in restructuring a Singapore based company in their platform exchange and in applying for a Standard Payment Institution (SPI) licence.
Apart from legal work, I have experience in food and beverage having managed a couple of restaurants for six (6) years.
